Metal Roofingin Bucks County & South Jersey

Standing-seam and metal shingle systems built for decades of service — better snow shedding, fire resistance, and long-term durability than asphalt.

What is metal roofing?

Metal roofing covers a range of systems — standing-seam panels with concealed fasteners, and metal shingles designed to mimic the look of slate or shake — all sharing the same core advantages over asphalt: a much longer service life, better performance in heavy snow, and strong resistance to wind, fire, and impact damage.

It costs more upfront than asphalt shingles, which is the main reason more homes in Bucks County and South Jersey don't have it, but the lifespan difference is significant — a properly installed metal roof commonly lasts 40 to 70 years against 20 to 30 for asphalt, and most homeowners never need a second reroof.

Installation quality matters even more with metal than asphalt — panel alignment, fastener spacing, and expansion allowance all affect how the roof performs over decades, not just years. We install standing-seam and metal shingle systems to manufacturer spec with crews trained specifically on metal, not asphalt crews doing metal occasionally.

FAQ

Metal Roofing questions.

With proper solid-deck installation and underlayment — which is how we install every metal roof — the noise difference from asphalt is minimal. The old 'loud tin roof' reputation mostly comes from metal installed directly over open framing without decking, which we don't do.

The opposite is usually true — many insurers offer a discount for metal roofing due to its fire and impact resistance. Check with your specific carrier, but it's worth asking about when you switch.

Standing-seam panels are especially effective at shedding snow due to their smooth, low-friction surface, which reduces the ice damming and structural load that heavy snow causes on asphalt roofs.

We do a full tear-off on every metal roof install. Installing over an old roof can trap moisture, add weight the structure wasn't designed for, and prevent proper inspection of the decking underneath.
